is it possible to set pg's pg_hba.conf to "scram-sha-256" not "trust"?

I found in the installation documentation that it requires configuring "trust" for the network where the node is located in the pg_hba.conf file. This allows any node to access the database on other nodes. This presents a significant security risk for nodes belonging to different organizations. Therefore, is it possible to set it to "scram-sha-256"?
